More Word Play

"Lady and Junkajen!  Lady and Junkajen.......its a CIRCUS!"

I want a beard like daddy's.

When we got to Gramma and Grandpa's house they got the red car out.  Amelia helped Grandpa fix it (aka charge it).  This was their conversation:
Amelia gets into the passenger seat.
Grandpa: "Don't you want to drive it?"
Amelia: "Emma can drive it"
Grandpa: "Well, Emma can't she is in New Zealand."
Amelia: "Ok, Noah can drive it then"

Good Times

Lately, we haven't been taking too many pictures.  We've been busy - yet we haven't. Its been an interesting time - kind of like the weather - within one week we have had 6 inches of snow to 70 degree weather.  It has also been really fun - Isabelle has quickly been developing since she has turned 1.  She is loving things so much more, playing with things, climbing to new heights, interacting more with Amelia and trying to communicate more.  Amelia is also changing - I am truly amazed at how this girl can memorize things - she gets it from her daddy - anyone who knows me - yeah -- I think enough said there.  Amelia really thinks things through at a different level and loves the challenge of a good puzzle.  I've found I have been trying to communicate things in a way she can understand, which proves to be much more successful.   All of these changes and developmental milestones just reminds me how this time is so fleeting and something to be cherished - we only get one chance to raise these kids, one chance to instill good behavior, good morals and to be a good example to them.  How precious God's children really are and something to be cherished (even when you want to tear your hair out :)
Isabelle is really into putting things on and over her head.  This is her attempt to play dress up.

Amelia after she put her Thomas the train ABC puzzle together.  She was so proud of herself and so was I since she got minimal help from me.
Amelia and Isabelle.  I notice Amelia and Isabelle want to relate to each other more - which is good and bad.  I'm trying to find the balance of them hugging and playing while being gentle.  Its really hard since I don't want them to think they can't touch each other.
Isabelle playing with babies.   Luckily that little one is still in one piece after the banging Isabelle gave it!

Isabelle trying to fit into places she just doesn't really fit.  I think she believes that if she just puts her head down and pushes harder she can get through anything.
Going for the hat on her head this time

What can I say....I'm so glad God blessed us with these two girls.  I'm grateful to be their mommy and I'm excited for this summer!

Word Play

Mommy, I want to live in Iowa with my cousins!

When starting prayers (with much enthusiasm):
Dear JaJas, Dear JaJas, Dear JaJas!

When curious about something, such as why I added water to the almost empty soap container:
Mommy, what's this all about?!

In regards to getting rid of this large amount of snow:
A:  Daddy, will help
M:  Really, what will he do?
A: Actually, I just need my little shubble and I scoop it all away!

When asked how her pudding cup was:
FAN-tastic.....and yummy

In reference to the pizza daddy made:
Thank you for making this daddy........this is good good good good........me not like this!

Mommy, I almost lub you.

As daddy is about to leave for work.....
Stay of my back daddy!

While patting daddy's head:
Hey little buddy, hey little buddy

Happy Birthday Isabelle!

Happy Birthday Isabelle!  Today (April 7) is your first birthday!  Poor girl - you were teething almost the whole weekend, so you were kind of miserable.  I wish you felt a bit better, but it doesn't change how thankful we are for you!
 The birthday girl with Nana!
Isabelle's butterfly cake!  The birthday theme was all about butterflies!
Mommy helping blow out the candles
Tasting frosting for the first time......hmmmmmm
Isabelle didn't know what to think about the cake - even with the frosting taste test.
She was very dainty while eating
Round 3 for cake and ice cream!  What a weekend!
Papa gave Isabelle some ice cream and boy did she like that!
She went for the ice cream before the cake!
After awhile she started diggin' in
 Mmmmmm
 Cake Smiles
The extent of Isabelle's mess.  Pretty impressively clean I must say.
 Opening gifts time!
 Isabelle had lots of help
Amelia loved Isabelle's gifts and has been playing with them since then - not sure who those gifts were for......according to Amelia - they were Isabelle's but only she can play with them
A new outfit!  Now we just need it to be warm enough to wear it!

Happy Birthday Isabelle!  Daddy and I love you so so very much and so does your sister!  I can't imagine life without your spunky little personality keeping us on our toes!  I pray God will bless you immensely as you continue to grow!

Bowling Party

For Isabelle's party we all went bowling - no she couldn't participate, but she still had fun anyway!  All the other cousins had a blast.  It was Amelia's first time bowling and it will definitely be something we do again!
Amelia and Daddy bowling for the first time.
Olivia and Uncle James
Alaina would go all the way to the back and run as fast as she could and push the ball down the ramp
Paige, Nana and Uncle James
Paige and Uncle Mark.  Paige did great bowling - she didn't need the ramp - though sometimes I thought the ball momentum was going to knock her over when she let the ball go.
Alaina
Olivia waiting for her turn
Cate watching the festivities
A successful push!  Amelia insisted almost every time that she needed the blue ball - of course it was one of the heavy balls.
Uncle James working on a strike
Auntie Awesome working on her turkey!
Aunt Amber
Uncle Mark and Amelia
Aunt Jenna and Olivia
Uncle Mark helping Amelia bowl
Amelia and Aunt Jenna
Isabelle figured out that she was tall enough to grab puffs out of the little tray - what a day maker!
Aunt Jenna concentrating hard
Isabelle eating her puffs
Papa and Olivia
Isabelle walking around the bowling alley.  She tried touching the balls and go on the bowling part - at least she was in the bowling spirit.
Papa showing his bowling skillz
Amelia tickling Alaina who is watching Paige with Olivia
Daddy and Amelia bowling with Papa's help
Uncle James, Olivia and Daddy bowling
Isabelle's place to look out at everyone
Nana and Isabelle - its a back shot, since at this point Isabelle only wanted Mommy and Nana needed some Isabelle lovin's.
