Baby Update

Yesterday we went to my 37 week appointment for baby #2.   Appointments are exceptionally long since I have extra monitoring due to the gestational diabetes.  But, the good news is everything is looking great from a 'housing' perspective and #2 baby is also healthy with all the right amount of movements.

As of right now the likelihood is that we won't be making it to the 17th and the mini mini will be arriving early - at least that is what the doctor estimates and we have the same feeling.

Amelia is fascinated with my big belly and she likes to pat it.  When asked if that is where baby sister is and she nods yes, but she really doesn't grasp it.   Patrick was looking at pictures with her from a vacation a couple years ago and evidently she didn't really recognize me without the big belly.

Rice Krispie Bars

Amelia and I made rice krispie bars the other week together for the first time.  Not only was it the first time she had rice krispie bars but also rice krispies themselves, which she thought they were pretty fantastic.   I had told her she could have the rice krispies on the counter, so she would grab handfuls out of the back and then put them on the counter so she could eat them.  Smart girl!
Making sure there was enough on the counter.
Yummy!
She was very proud of her sneaky self and was having lots of fun
Once she got the rice krispie treat, it was a whole new experience!  She couldn't quite figure out what the sticky stuff was
Then she tried it and hmmmmmm, so good!
Our precious girl
Big smiles
Hmmmmmm, yummy!
Amelia is watching TV and I thought her position was so cute.

Visit from Liz, Ayla and Jase

A couple weeks ago Liz decided to come and visit Amelia and I for the day!  We were very excited as it has been a long time since we have seen them!   I couldn't believe how big her kids have gotten.
Here are some pictures of Amelia and Jase - they were so adorable together.  Unfortunately, Ayla jumped out of the picture right before I took them so I didn't get any of Ayla or Liz.
Thanks again for coming to visit Liz!  It was so good to see you!

Playtime with Amelia

Amelia loves animals!   Whether she is playing with them, looking at books - anything related to animals she is all over it.  It is quite impressive how many animals she recognizes and can do sounds for or 'find' them in books.
Lately Amelia has also been quite attached to her baby.  Which is probably good considering her little sister is coming in 3 weeks or less!
Fitting into small places is still so much fun!

Indie Lovin's

Amelia loves her dogs!  Indie is "Dindie" and we are working on Joey, but for now she is almost always "Dindie" too.
Below is some of Amelia's lovin's for Indie - and none of these were posed at all!

Home Show Weekend - Year 4

For the last 4 years, we have gone to the Minneapolis Home Show with Gramma and Grandpa.
 Gramma and Amelia
One of the exhibits was playground equipment, Amelia was so excited and she immediately went down the slides.

Grandpa won Amelia a chicken while at the home show!  She was pretty excited about that chicken.
The shirt Amelia was wearing kind of looked like the chicken, so we couldn't resist changing her pants to match the chicken
 Amelia loving her blankie
 Hugs from Gramma!
Grandpa was teaching Amelia how to make noises with her mouth, she was having so much fun

Sightings of Amelia

Here are a few Amelia sightings...
Amelia at the doctors office with daddy's phone
Amelia and her shoe day!  She had to try them all on and walk around in them.  Great Grandpa would be proud (he used to be a manager of a shoe store!)
Daddy reading a story to Amelia
Amelia in Mommy's sweatshirt....she wanted a hood, but this one didn't have a hood, so we improvised!
