Perspective

A couple months ago we were eating breakfast - it was kind of a breezy day.  Amelia looks outside and says, "Look mom!  The leaves are dancing!"

The Face of "Innocence"

I should know this.....but its almost times two with this one.  Or maybe its better said by half.  2 seconds, half the time, twice the trouble.  And since the number 2 seems to be a theme here - I shall keep going with it......our second child, who is 2 years old.   We are in full swing here at the Vigneron household - if you would have asked me a couple months ago - I would have naively said - oh yes we are in full swing with the terrible twos and you should have laughed at me.  I guess I forgot that along with the upswing in tantrums due to limited speak and increased frustration also comes mischief.  Well, the tantrums were a couple months ago (and continuing) but lately - oh my - the MISCHIEF!!!!!

Oh Miss Isabelle what am I going to do with you?!  I'm thinking I may need one of those leashes, but not for out in public - I need one for the house!  I can literally turn my back for 2 seconds and she can do something (its like she is looking for opportunities - except she actually isn't which is even more scary).

- Anyone need about 3 feet of tape?!  From an 'off-limit' drawer?!  AND wrapped all over her.
- Same goes for toilet paper?!
- Then there was the dirt episode.... (while talking to some neighbors), dirt path across the driveway, in order to get it into the ride on car trunk + surrounding area.  Might as well take some dirt from the potted plant for good measure.  The roof of the car needed some, as did the garage floor, and the tricycle seat.  Shoes are not necessary for this adventure, but making sure its all over yourself definitely is!
- Random sticky glue from the new window - that doesn't come off with soap - all over both hands and then mine and the soap container.
- Kitchen towels are NOT meant for wiping your hands, they are meant for Joey to sleep on
- Feeding Joey when my back is turned (this has mainly come into play when she doesn't want to eat something)
- Dumping the bubbles out of the container.....I say, "Isabelle stop".  Isabelle:  go to the other container and start pouring.

I am amazed at her speed, seems this week I cannot leave her side - CAN NOT.   And somehow, I just cannot get through to her.  And whenever we now say...."Isabelle, ", the response is "Meeeee?" (The most innocent, unassuming and usually surprised tone).

When the mischievous side isn't taking over the "I want to be a big girl", comes into play.   She wants to help even more than usual - whenever she can.  The other day she got the step stool and sat by Landon and held his hand for about 10 minutes while I cleaned the kitchen because he was crying.  She loves the first try at putting her clothes on.

And oh the cuddles.  They are still in full swing also, which I'm hooked like a drug on. Its like a deep seeded need for her to have that lovin'.  Which I will completely do until she doesn't want me to anymore.  Isabelle has been waking up during the night more than usual lately - we aren't sure what it is - either teething or nightmares, maybe both.  For awhile she would wake up screaming, "Bee, Bee!"  Poor girl does not like bees or flies.  Other times as soon as she gets in your arms she calms down.  The other night as I held her, swaying - all of a sudden I feel this tiny little patting on my back and then a little rub back and forth, back and forth.  She is so thoughtful.  Seriously some of the sweetest stuff on earth.

This girl continues to keep it interesting!  But word to the wise - if you are around her (note to self)....always keep one eye on her because you really don't know what she will get into.

Taking a walk with the umbrella (love the hat)
 Playing in the water
Water and Trikes go hand in hand!

Story:  I Love My Trike
Taking a trike ride....oh happy day!
Isabelle the ride is over, time to go in.   Isabelle pouts.....for a very long time.
Isabelle how about you come in the house and help mommy.  Isabelle - happy again!
Lets get going!  The end.

Could it be?!

Well, this is a first.....in this household of children we have been rather late bloomers in respect to teeth.......until now!  Landon is getting is first tooth!  At the ripe ole age of 7.5 months he is getting a lower front tooth!  You caught me by surprise little man with this one!

Highlights

June has proven to be a crazy month at the Vinny household and it looks like July will be more of the same.  Unfortunately, the blog suffers when life is crazy and thus there has been quite a sabbatical.   Hopefully I can get back on track, though there might be some 'fast track' posts in order to do so.   Some major highlights.....

The last weekend in June proved to be a big development weekend for both Isabelle and Landon.   Isabelle gained some major coordination at Nana and Papa's, upon coming home she rode her tricycle like a pro!  When she hunkers down to get going she is like little mighty mouse and zooom there she goes!   As for Landon, he now army crawls!  There was so much open area at grandma and grandpa's that Landon was able roll without the confines of furniture and toys.  He was also tempted by far away toys, so between rolling and his new army crawl you never know where he will go!

Amelia turned 4!  Oh was she excited and anticipated it for so long!

Landon is now eating 3 solid meals a day and sometimes that doesn't satisfy this hungry little guy!

Isabelle's Gymnastics!

Isabelle was able to take a 4 week gymnastics class!  And after watching Amelia all those times - she was ready!   Someone must have told her to get her money's worth, because the girl ran around the entire time doing as many things as she could.  Honestly, it was hard to keep up with her since she could wiggle through and run faster than I could go around!
 Isabelle on the balance beam!
This girl is crazy strong!  I was amazed she could hold on and pull up as well as she did!
The fun of going through tunnels
This was the roller ball, she rolls over as I hold onto her ankles and then does a somersault
Walking sideways on the balance beam
Isabelle remains fearless of heights - off to the big balance beams she went and practically ran across
About to jump off a big mat
Due to shortness, it was a bit of an effort to get on the big mats
 More arm strength!
At the end of every class they had parachute time and Amelia got to help!

Running around to get the air out
 Getting a ride!
Both girls on the parachute!

Way to go Isabelle!

Happy 4th Birthday Amelia

This past Tuesday you turned 4 Amelia!  You have been counting down the months and other people's birthday until it was yours.   You were so excited!  You wanted a big, huge party with all the people you loved at it, especially your cousins.  We were able to celebrate with most of the family, even though it wasn't one huge party.

You are such a precious girl, Amelia.  Your sensitive soul makes you get your feelings hurt easily, but it also makes you very thoughtful and helpful.  Out of your siblings you are the responsible one.  I think this will continue as you guys get older!

We are so proud of you!  You got a bigger bike this year for your birthday and you have been working really hard to get used to it and there have been a couple tip-overs, but you get up and try again.

You love to color, bake, be outside - have sprinkler parties - and all of the things kids like to do.  Doc McStuffins and Elsa are your favorite characters, though Mickey and Minnie still hold a special place in your heart.

The other day you told me you were so so strong like daddy.  Today you told me you guys are buddies.  You love your daddy and the rest of us so much.  I can't wait to see how you continue to grow and develop!  I must say as every mommy must - the time is going so fast and as we looked back at baby pictures (with you smiling with glee), I had to give a sad sigh that we won't have you that small again!   Time with you is precious my girl!  I love you so much!  Happy Birthday!
