Today started at 6:00 am. Isabelle slept for 7 hours! Way to go Miss Isabelle. Around 6:30, Amelia popped her head up and said 'Daddy' - I told her it was not time to get up and to go back to sleep. (Currently - I am sleeping with the girls in the basement because it is so HOT outside and our air conditioner cannot keep up. Daddy is stuck upstairs, so his alarm clock doesn't wake up the girls.)
Amelia went back to sleep until 7:25, which is early for both of my girls. Amelia popped up wanting to play with her 'choo choo' - you may think she wants to play with a train, but really its a truck to which she is referring. I was made to realize I was not as good as daddy at playing trucks when Amelia said, "daddy hom". Yes, she was asking for daddy to play with and her interest in her 'choo choo' faded fast after that point.
Here are the rest of the highlights from today....as of 2:45 - I cannot guarantee something hilarious won't happen after this point.
I wanted Amelia to get dressed and she was going really slow, so I told her to 'shake a leg' to hurry her up and she did - she shook her leg! She didn't get dressed in real clothes until 2:25.
Amelia repeated the entire alphabet after me - one letter at a time. And 90% of it was really clear.
Amelia has overcome her fear of pom pom's after she dressed up as a cheerleader and played with them. (Amelia is in a dance class and the first time she was terrified of the pom poms).
Isabelle also made her presence well known today, she had her first laugh/giggle! She was watching Amelia sit in the boppy under her floor entertainment thing. She laughed 3-4 times - big ones! It was absolutely adorable! So so sweet. Love her laugh!
Amelia (while only in her diaper) started to take her diaper off and insist that she had to 'poop poop', so we went to the toilet after much insistence on her part and she sat on the toilet. No poop, but she was very proud of herself. She also insisted her baby had to go by pulling her baby's pants down and pointing at her butt saying 'poop poop', so we let them go too. But the toilet experimentation ended quickly after Amelia stuck her hand in the water. gross!!! After a very thorough hand washing we made a quick exit from the bathroom.
