These are the days...

Tonight, Daddy was watching the girls - and when it came time to pick up, Daddy showed Isabelle what to do and she ended up picking up a lot of the toys.
Can she really be this old?!

Amelia has been taking it upon herself these last couple nights to completely change into her jammies.  Pull-up and all.  And is she ever proud of herself when she comes out completely dressed!
Can she really be this old?!

Tonight as we were about to sing our songs, Amelia decided she was a puppy, so we all barked the ABC's - literally barked.
Yep, she's still a kid!

Moments

At bedtime, we each choose a song to sing, Amelia chooses ABC's every night.  It may seem like an exaggeration or how could it really be every night?!  But truly she chooses ABC's every single night.  Its probably been at least 2 months since she started her trend, but since then by far her favorite song is ABC's.

It is not a strength of mine to memorize songs and the words within songs.  Key parts - I'm fabulous and singing the key parts of the song - probably because the key part is usually no more than 5 words.   I also switch words or usually just get them plain wrong.  Its very entertaining for Patrick and probably someday for the girls.   Well, today I was singing the key part of  'Well with my Soul'.  I was in the kitchen and I got to that clutch part (aka the rest of the song) and alas, I could not remember anymore words.  Instead of pure silence or laughter from Patrick, we hear Amelia sitting on the steps continuing on singing and when she would get to the 'It is well with my soul'  part - I would sing along with her.  The innocence and sweetness in her voice completely made us melt.  She has a memory like her daddy - the girl can remember.

World Of Walking

I think it is pretty safe to say - Isabelle is walking!  And not just a few steps here and there.  Legitimate laps from the loft to the closed doors in the hallway and back and forth and back and forth.

She still tries to take advantage of the available finger when she gets the chance.  And if she does get a finger, she knows how she wants to hold it - which she has no issue re-adjusting while holding your finger hostage with her other hand so you don't take it away.

Isabelle also loves to walk around with something in her arms, whether its lambie, a soccer ball, kitty or the beloved mickey mouse - it seems to help her balance and give her confidence.

This weekend we went to a couple different parks, which I have found are a great place for practice walking.  The terrain is uneven, yet forgiving.   Isabelle did a great job walking around, until she decided she wanted to taste the mulch - no more walking for you baby girl!

Isabelle has even taken to walking around our kitchen instead of sitting in her little car - and if you try and put her in the little car.....watch out - you are going to hear about it!

Overall, she still does not like falling down, though I have to give her balance credit, not only will she catch herself from falling, she will also catch herself from face plants.  So she is definitely getting better there too.

I find it amazing that the places Amelia was attracted to when she started walking, like the bathroom cabinet, is the exact same place Isabelle is going.  I'm not sure how this is possible with kids, especially since Amelia doesn't go in there anymore.

On Our Toes and Laughing

I have had a cold for the last week.  The other morning when Isabelle woke up and we were rocking (she is still such a cuddler), I had to blow my nose.  I had a couple clean ones in my lap and as I was blowing away - wondering how you get a cold in June.  Isabelle reaches over, grabs a kleenex and starts blowing her nose (sound effects and all - coming from her mouth).  Since then she loves going over to the kleenex box, grab one and walk around and fake blow her nose.

We were on our way to the store and I said something relatively cheesy, to which Patrick teased me about it.  I said something along the lines of - well, if I didn't say things like that you wouldn't have as much spice in your life.  To which Patrick replied, well giving you a hard time about it is one of those things you'll  miss when I'm gone.   Pause, Pause, Pause.  From the backseat we hear...."We'll miss you Daddy when you're gone"

Amelia

I have now caught Amelia drawing with markers on her hands 3 different times.  Every time I ask.....Amelia why are you doing that?  We only draw on paper.  She says - Mommy, I just makin' a tattoo.  Don't worry.

We now have a back seat driver.  Each time we come to a light Amelia tells her daddy to either, STOP, GO or TURN!

On her way to bed, Daddy told Amelia to say good night to Isabelle.
Goonight Edo
