We attempted the state fair this year and overall, I would say it went pretty good. We only lasted about 4 hours, which was ok.

The pigs were a total hit! Thought the hat and fan were probably a big part of that. Isabelle's imitation of a pig is classic! Hopefully I get it on video at some point.
