Amelia has really started to kick her feet and move around a lot, so we decided to setup the jumperoo. She loves the jumperoo! It helps her burn steam.

Bath Time with Gramma
While Gramma visited for the funeral, Amelia was able to receive a bath from her!
Amelia was quite funny and full of expressions!!! What fun bath time is!
A funeral, but a visit from Great Grandma and Grandpa Bowers
A couple weeks ago, Great Grandma, Great Grandpa and Gramma Cycle came up for a visit. A very dear friend of Amelia's great grandma and grandpa, Earl Johnson, passed away. My grandparents have been friends with the Johnson family for years and years. Earl and Thelma live in the cities, which is why they were able to stay with us and visit Amelia.

Back with a Bang!
Today Amelia is feeling better. She started feeling better yesterday, but today she is back to her normal, happy, sleeping-all-night self! (We are very happy about that). While I can think of so many things to say, the words just don't do justice. The video really just says it all.....

Raisin' Her Right
This is Amelia's response everytime we put her under the Hawkeye mobile. I have to say - we must be raisin' her right to get such a response......

The Unfortunate "Firsts"
Having Amelia has been an amazing experience for Patrick and I and we are so incredibly blessed with so many aspects of Amelia's life, personality and activities. There have been so many great "firsts" - her smiles, her standing, kicking her legs, making noises and on and on. This past weekend we unfortunately got to experience some of the not so fun "firsts". Poor Amelia! She is on her 3rd cold in her short life and on Saturday she was exceptionally fussy. After she ate her afternoon bottle, she had difficulties getting to sleep for a nap. After waking up for the third time she was inconsolable. She does not cry like this. She would arch her little back and just cry so hard. Patrick was finally able to calm her down (bravo honey!) and get her to sleep. She woke up from her nap and continued to cry. We took her temp and Amelia had her first temperature and it was increasing pretty quickly - the highest she reached was 100.6 under the arm. We gave her infant Tylenol and I have to say - she was pretty cute as she ate it. New flavors! We finally got her down for the night and amazingly enough - she slept the whole night in her bassinet! We took her into Urgent Care this morning (another first) just to make sure she didn't have an ear infection - which she didn't, thank goodness. She was still running a low grade fever, but the doctor said it is just the cold running its course and if it continues longer than tomorrow to bring her back in. Unfortunately for Amelia, she also had another first - the rectal temperature. Bummer for her - she handled it like a champ! Amelia has been pretty fussy yet today, but hopefully the worst of it is over. Poor little thing!
Amelia weighed in at 12 lbs and 3 ounces.

Hawkeye Weekend Fun
In the spirit of the "Go Hawk" weekend, we went to the homecoming parade on Friday night with Mark, Mel and the girls. It was a beautiful night for a parade and pizza!
Just chillin' in her little Hawkeye jumpsuit! We are training her early!
We have a very similar picture of Paige and Unkie in almost the same pose!
Waiting for the parade to start
And the parade starts!
Our "camp site"
Auntie Mel, Alaina and Amelia. Paige and Mark were getting the pizza!
To the right of Alaina you will see a pile of nuts. I think Alaina may have picked up more nuts before the parade than actual candy during the parade! They were really great nuts!
Patrick and I went a little early to the game. We were able to see the players walk in before the game. It was quite amazing to see how big the football players were!
Bonding with the Safly's
We had the opportunity to bond with Patrick's sister - Mel and her family. They were gracious enough to let us stay with them for the Iowa vs. Penn State game. It is always great to see them and spend time together.
