Well Stated

Tonight Amelia reeeeeeeaaaaaalllllly wanted to watch Paw Patrol (the new family favorite); however, Tuesday nights are our watch a bible story night.  So Daddy posed a challenge.  
Daddy:  Amelia if you can tell me how Paw Patrol relates to the bible - I will consider letting you watch it.
Amelia: Well Daddy, it shows me how to help others.
Daddy:  Ok, but how does that relate to the bible?
Amelia:  Well, it shows me teamwork which helps me obey my parents.
Us: Speechless and Impressed.
Amelia smiled a huge proud grin - since she knew she had done it.

So we made a compromise....we could watch half a Paw Patrol and a shorter bible story.

Well thought out Miss Amelia.

Generally speaking it was just a good night - Isabelle had the idea she wanted to help me make supper and Amelia jumped in to help too.  We decided to have eggs and toast, so they helped mix, pour, spread, spoon out and work together.   It was really fun to see how we all worked toward the common goal.

They were very pleased with themselves and they ate a lot!

Olivia, Cate and Simon Visit

This fall Olivia, Cate and Simon (and Uncle James and Aunt Jenna) came to visit us!

Fall Soccer Ends

Amelia played fall soccer and this was her team.   Its still undecided if we will continue soccer or not, but she enjoyed her team and had fun!

Happenin's

Landon has been pulling some sick days on us during the fall - tends to be ear infections.

 This happened to be one of those days - of course it was pj day at daycare - but he did not care and ran all around!

 Another sick day for Landon.  The only way he let me work was to have his own computer and sit right next to me!  It was so sweet.

Happy Birthday Daddy!

This year Daddy turned the big 35!  We had a small celebration at home with a home cooked meal (one of daddy's favorites!).  

 Amelia worked really hard this year making a gift for daddy and even wrapped it!

 I was so proud of her - she made him a hawkeye themed bag to put his money in!  She would lay it out and have me sew the pieces together.  It was multiple different times, so I was impressed with her ability to stick with it!  She was so proud of herself and daddy loved it!

Random Fun

This year we were able to do a lot more bike riding with a lot less falls by Isabelle. We even were able to do a couple family bike rides before the big bikes had flat tires.

Oh sweet Isabelle.  For quite some time now, Isabelle gets out of bed at least once a night.  Usually with a poor excuse and coy smile.   We usually listen, end with a hug and up she goes to bed.  Some day we will miss that when it stops.

Iowa City Here We Come!

This fall we made trip to Iowa City to visit Paige, Alaina, Auntie Awesome and Uncle Cool!   It had been a really long time since our last trip so it was nice to come visit!
