Hey Cous!

A few weekends ago, cousin Olivia came to visit - with Aunt Jenna and Uncle James!  This was the first time where the girls actually played together.  It was really fun to see how these two little sweethearts are able to start relating to each other and build a friendship!

 Saturday morning fun!
The guys went to the Iowa vs. Minnesota game and while they were there, Jenna, Olivia, Amelia and Mommy went to the children's museum.  It was the first time we had went and it was a lot of fun!  The girls really liked this exhibit.  This was the kitchen area.
While this picture doesn't show it - the museum was crazy busy!  Of course that didn't slow these two down
Amelia got a cart from the grocery store area and decided to take it all over
I was really impressed, Amelia figured out that if she put the letters on the conveyor belt, they would go up.  She wasn't the fastest at putting the letters in, but she definitely had the concept.

Olivia really got into climbing this giant 'L'.   She loved looking at the animal in the window.
 Big smiles!
Amelia really got into sliding down this little slide and she liked how she had to go through a little tunnel to get to it.
One last shot of the little girlies through a tunnel!
After we left the children's museum we eventually went to pick up the daddies from the game.  As we were going down there, the girls were in the backseat looking at each other and laughing hysterically together!  It was soooo sweet.  Both Jenna and I were cracking up laughing.  Once we picked up the daddies, they started in again - trying to reach for each other and laughing!  As these little girls continue to grow, it will be fun to see how their relationship continues to grow with them.

I Help

Amelia is a great helper!  She loves having tasks to do.  When cleaning out the dishwasher, the silverware - all hers!  In the grocery store, she is the little runner - one item at a time.  Amelia is also getting better at helping pick up her toys at night.  One of her favorite helping tasks is laundry!  She is very good at pulling clean clothes out of the basket.  She loves to pick up already folded clothes and flip them over her shoulder and walk around.  She also loves to wear particular articles of clothing....as seen below.  Such a good helper!

Close Call

Last night it was bath night!  And Amelia loves ALL THINGS BATH TIME!!!!  She has become more and more interested in reaching for the faucet, flipping the latch to have the water go through the shower nozzle versus the faucet and also reaching for the suds (b/c those are sooo much fun!).
Over the last couple weeks, the thought has crossed my mind more than once that we need to start watching Amelia closer, because her ability to reach was just a little too good for her own good.
Back to last night.....Amelia had her baby's blanket and was reaching for the faucet, as usual, and was about to drop her blanket in the water, so I quick grabbed it, turned around, put the blanket on the bathroom counter.  By the time I turned back around, I see Amelia reaching, reaching, (in slow motion) feet start to lift, head going down towards the water, mommy's eyes popping out of her head, jaw dropping...NNNOOOOO AAA-MEEEE-LIIIIIA.  I grabbed her as fast as I could - luckily it was before she fully went in and before she hit her head on the bottom.  But half of her head got dunked - face all sudsy and she had water up to both of her elbows.  Her reaction, you may wonder?!  Well, it was this.....whine/cry as if she just dropped to her rear when she didn't want to.  I wiped her face off and that was it.  Nothing more....no hysterical crying, no traumatized child, no fits when it was time to get in.  In fact, she was practically jumping in as she was getting undressed.
So I'm thinking 3 things:
1) Thank you Lord for watching over her.
2) Swimming lessons are needed.
3) Watch her like a HAWK!

Bath Time Fun

Baths are so much fun!
Prior to taking this video, Amelia was laughing so hard she literally fell over.

Your Daddy's Love for You

Amelia ~  Every night your daddy goes into your room after you are asleep and checks on you.  The other night after he came out of your room I heard him say...."Oh, you are so precious."  He was talking about you sweet girl - he loves you so very much.

A Visit to the Greats!

Gramma took Amelia to visit Great Grandma and Great Grandpa a couple weeks ago for a couple days!  By the sounds of it, they all had a great time!  These pictures are from our visit with them.
Gramma got Amelia a shopping cart and she put the miles on - around and around she went!
This picture isn't actually of Amelia, but she got 'caught' in it and I think her face is hilarious.  So I couldn't resist cropping everyone else out!
 Playing with Great Grandma
Gramma can you read me my favorite story?!
Okay, Great Grandpa, can you read me my favorite story now?!
Yay!  Great Grandma - you are so much fun!
Gramma and Amelia - so smiley
 Some goofy smiles....
A picture of the greats and Amelia.....notice Gramma in the background?!  Notice Amelia's face?!  Work harder Gramma at making Amelia smile!
 Now she's got some smiles!
Mommy is added to the group!
 Now Daddy!
And a switch with Daddy for Gramma.  4 Generations!
Thanks Gramma for taking me to see Great Grandma and Great Grandpa!  I had so much fun with all of you!  ~Amelia
