Indie Lovin's

Amelia loves her dogs!  Indie is "Dindie" and we are working on Joey, but for now she is almost always "Dindie" too.
Below is some of Amelia's lovin's for Indie - and none of these were posed at all!

Home Show Weekend - Year 4

For the last 4 years, we have gone to the Minneapolis Home Show with Gramma and Grandpa.
 Gramma and Amelia
One of the exhibits was playground equipment, Amelia was so excited and she immediately went down the slides.

Grandpa won Amelia a chicken while at the home show!  She was pretty excited about that chicken.
The shirt Amelia was wearing kind of looked like the chicken, so we couldn't resist changing her pants to match the chicken
 Amelia loving her blankie
 Hugs from Gramma!
Grandpa was teaching Amelia how to make noises with her mouth, she was having so much fun

Sightings of Amelia

Here are a few Amelia sightings...
Amelia at the doctors office with daddy's phone
Amelia and her shoe day!  She had to try them all on and walk around in them.  Great Grandpa would be proud (he used to be a manager of a shoe store!)
Daddy reading a story to Amelia
Amelia in Mommy's sweatshirt....she wanted a hood, but this one didn't have a hood, so we improvised!

Mmmmmmwha

Amelia is a very loud kisser......mmmmmmmmwha, she makes her kiss sound whether she is actually giving you a kiss or blowing you a kiss.   I have to say I never get tired of that sweet little noise she makes.   Whenever she hurts herself, she also loves when we kiss her ouchies to make them all better.

The other day Amelia was in a time out and being quite difficult with her attempts at escaping the stool.  At some point while placing her back on the chair, she must have hurt her finger.  I typically try not to give her attention while she is on the stool, otherwise, it just doesn't seem like a punishment.  As she held her little finger up wanting me to kiss it - I resisted, so she decided to take matters in her own hands.   She began mmmmmmwha'ing her own finger to make it better until her timeout ended.   I had to turn my face away so she couldn't see me smiling - it was so cute.

Small Victories

You would think that multi-vitamin gummies would taste good or at a minimum smell good - they make them for adults so of course they have to be kid friendly, right?!  ......Or maybe not.   We bought some fabulous gummies for Amelia, because at a minimum she loves fruit snacks and in reality they've gotta be some what similar, right?!  .....Or maybe not.

According to AA (Amelia Actions), gummies may not taste so great - and to her defense they do smell quite awful (how - I have not figured out).  One of the first days after we got them she ate her one for the day - peace of cake I thought (silly mommy).   The next couple/few days we were not so lucky.  Amelia took to spitting them out.  I must say a huge characteristic of wet gummies is they are incredibly sticky....like won't shake off your finger sticky!  Then she flat out refused the gummy and with Amelia - you can't force the girl to eat anything.  Then one day she up'ed her game - instead of the argument she took the gummy, walked around with it and ultimately deposited it ever so gracefully in her trash.

So - I took a couple day break from the gummies.   Why force the issue and waste these things?  Yesterday and today....I asked Amelia, would you like your multi-vitamin?  Yes according to the girl who nods yes for almost everything.   So I gave her one both days....and she ate them.  Small victories, little bit of a celebration.

Fall Visit to Nana and Papa's

This past fall we made a visit to Nana and Papa's, but I never posted the pictures.  As I look back at these - which really aren't that old - it is so hard to believe how much Amelia has developed and grown in the last few months.
Getting one of her first riding lessons from Papa
 Nana, Amelia and Papa
 Saying hello to the dogs
The findings of digging through the diaper bag
 Loving the car!
 Nana and Amelia
"Papa, what are this prickly things?!"
 Buckling the high chair buckle
 "Hey guys....can I play?"
I really love these beads!

Note to Self

When making statements about the plans for the night make sure the ordering is not lost on your child.....such as, "Tonight is bath night, after we eat supper."  Your child may only hear the exciting part - bath night - resulting in your ordering of the night going out the window because your child is so devastated she cannot take a bath RIGHT NOW.
