Living History Farms Race

Daddy and Aunt Amber ran in the Living History Farms Race on the weekend of Mommy's birthday. The race itself is quite unique, its a seven mile race through fields, creeks, up hills and in cold weather. The runners also wear very unique outfits!
Before the race. Nana, Daddy, Papa and Olivia
Grandma Lillian, Aunt LuAnn, and Aunt Nancy came up for the weekend. Grandma Lillian didn't know everyone was coming, so it was fun to surprise her! It was also the first time meeting Amelia.

Aunt Amber with Olivia.

7500 people ran in the race - it was a sea of people!

The all-star runners stretching. Papa got them matching hats and arm bands in order to find them easier.

And the stretching continues....

Another shot of all the runners

The beginning of the race! It was a sea of people going straight at you!

Daddy and Aunt Amber at the start of the race running by.
After Daddy and Aunt Amber ran by we all walked to the finish line area.

Amelia is bundled in her snowsuit and sleeping in her stroller.
Papa and Mommy had their own little adventure in order to find a place to watch Daddy and Aunt Amber run by. We had to cross a creek and up an embankment.

Here they come!

They still have smiles on their faces and still running!

This is a 'before' picture of a creek that has to be crossed by all the runners.

This is the 'after' picture! The embankment has completely eroded away and has widened by a lot!

Daddy and Aunt Amber finding a place to cross the creek

They made it across in one piece and relatively clean

And they continue on.....up a very big hill!

Almost at the finish line!

A little bit closer!

At the end Aunt Amber dug deep and sprinted across the finish line before Daddy.

Celebratory arm raise at the finish line by Daddy!

Daddy and Mommy at the end of the race! Way to go! Mommy was so proud of Daddy!

Eyes are closed on this picture, but its the only one of the three of us!

Great Job Daddy and Aunt Amber! I am so impressed you ran this race!
Until next year.....

Bag of Tricks

Amelia has quite the bag of tricks and on Sunday night she pulled out another trick from her bag. While on the changing table (her usual spot to unveil her tricks) she found her feet! She managed to practically fold herself in half in order to chew her feet! Now every time she is on the table she clamps onto her feet with her hands, which causes quite the challenge to getting her diaper on! I must admit - its pretty cute to see her smushed into a little ball.

Laughter!

On Friday I was changing Amelia's diaper and was playing with her on the changing table. Whenever Amelia is on the changing table she becomes, practically a whole new girl! She kicks her legs, she chatters non-stop and is incredibly lively! It is very fun and entertaining to change her diaper. On this particular day, she started to laugh as I tickled her! It was the first time I have heard her laugh and it was the sweetest sound! I can't wait to hear it again.

4 Months Old!

This past Monday Amelia turned 4 months old! On Tuesday, we went in for her 4 month checkup. Here are her stats:
Weight = 12 lbs 14 oz, 33rd percentile
Height = 25 in, 78th percentile

Amelia once again was a charmer at the doctor's office. As I was describing the happenings of Amelia she sat and smiled, cooed and made sure the doctor paid all of her attention to Amelia. It was pretty cute - the doctor had a good chuckle over it.

Here are some up to date pictures of Amelia. She has really started to do a great job of coordinating her hands and using both of them to get what she wants. She is also putting everything in her mouth!
What concentration!

Really working on it now! Angry face!

I love her little hand holding the ball - how precious!

Papa Saves Indie's Day

Last weekend Nana, Papa and Auntie Amber came to visit, but more importantly Papa came to save Indie's winter days. This past May we installed a doggie door for the dogs - especially Indie. Indie loves to be outside! So for his sake and our sanity we installed the doggie door. So now, Indie can go in and out whenever he wants! A dilemma has presented itself as winter has gotten closer - what to do about the doggie door, with all the cold air?! Well, Papa came and had the answer! Needless to say - Indie owes Papa big doggie kisses for saving his independence during the winter months.

Indie, of course, was able to get used to the door right away; however, Joey had a bit more troubles getting used to it. But she got the hang of it now and is quite the pro.

Full proof that Joey goes through the door!

It also snowed for the first time this weekend, so the installation of the 'winter' doggie door was just in the nick of time! Indie also loves snow, he had huge snowballs on his legs after being outside - I wish I could have gotten a picture before they all melted off.

Indie on his way out. It was difficult to get a picture of him - he was running all over the place!

Here he is running!

Finally a good shot of him!

Happy Halloween

Happy Halloween!!! Instead of a costume, we got Amelia a Halloween outfit. I love the little ghosts on her toes. She did a really good job of sitting by the pumpkin for her Halloween picture.

She wasn't too sure about it at first

Amelia getting some tummy time. She is doing such a good job holding her head up; however, its hard to keep her on her belly before she rolls over!

Look at that neck strength!

---------------------------------------------------------------------

Amelia looked so cute in her Sunday outfit that I thought I would get some pictures of her. This is her little lambie that she plays with quite a bit. As you can see, she is handling the lamb much better than the precious moments angel from her six day old pictures. We are working on sharing the spotlight! :)

She even gave a little smile!

Hanging out with lambie

As a reminder, here is Amelia and the precious moments angel. Grrrr

I love these little socks that Gramma got her!
